Electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and other forms of energy run nearly everything in our workplace today, from our telephones to our manufacturing machinery and equipment. If uncontrolled, each of these forms of energy pose a significant hazard. Death and serious injury can result from an unexpected startup, or the release of hazardous energy.

All authorized employees who service or maintain equipment, as well as equipment operators and any other affected employees who work in the area where lockout tagout is being performed are required to take this training to meet OSHA compliance requirements for lock out tag out in (29 CFR 1910.1479(c)(7)).

Examples of various forms of hazardous energy found in the workplace are introduced in this online training, along with identifying when and why lockout tagout is required. Also listed and described is each step required in the lockout tagout process, provision for group lockout, tag-only conditions, and other special situations you may encounter.

Upon successful completion of our OSHA Lockout Tagout Procedures course each student will have access to a printable certificate and wallet card.

This course satisfies the requirements of the OSHA lockout/tagout standard (29 CFR 1910.147).
