ERGONOMICS
We offer a range of online training courses based on OSHA guidelines for industries with a high rate of ergonomic risk factors. Labor & industry ergonomics presents an overview of the ergonomic hazards affecting virtually every work environment. Our Shipyard Maritime ergonomics course can help shipyard employees work safely and efficiently with the materials and equipment in their work environment.
Healthcare ergonomics can reduce the occurrence of strains and sprains - the leading causes of healthcare workers missing work. Office ergonomics address injuries caused by repetitive motion and awkward posture, and our online certification course offers solutions such as workstation adjustments and administrative improvements. Construction worker fatigue, discomfort, and injury can be reduced when proper construction ergonomics are used on a worksite.
Ergonomics is the science of designing workplaces to better accommodate employees. Ergonomically unsafe work practices can cause painful injuries categorized as musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs are soft tissue injuries, which means they affect tendons, muscles, nerves, ligaments, and cartilage.
MSDs are cumulative injuries that develop from prolonged exposure to risk factors such as repetitive motion, awkward postures, vibration, and contact stress. Incorporating ergonomic principles into a workplace health and safety program helps to prevent worker injury while maximizing work performance.
