Governing Regulations
OSHA office ergonomics regulations are covered by its General Duty Clause, Section 5(a)(1). Employers must keep the workplace free from recognized serious hazards. This includes any ergonomic hazard anticipated to be encountered during the performance of an employee's duties.

OSHA does not specifically require workplace ergonomics training, but this kind of safety training is encouraged under the General Duty Clause, Section 5(a)(1), 29 U.S.C. 654(b)(1). It states that "each employer shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees." Retraining helps employees recognize and mitigate the hidden dangers inherent in the office environment.
